A few words with Marco Savio

Who are you?
Marco Savio, founder of Ron Malteco and Rum Malecon brands.
The SAVIO Group is a family owned company, founded in 1958 by Marco’s father, Paolino, dealing with coffee roasting and production of spirits. From the beginning, the company has been inspired by the search for high-quality products and for this reason Marco and Paolino personally developed strong relationships with producers and partners in Central and South America. After few years, Savio started to directly produce traditional liquors from Italy and his own rum brands, thanks to the strengthening of the partnerships with Rum producers in Panama.

Ron Malteco
More on the sweet side taste. Distilled from sugar cane juice in column still. Available in many skus and “families”:
– Young Rums: Ron Malteco Seco Puro, Ron Malteco Viejo Dorado, 5 anos
– Reservas: 10 anos, 15 anos, 20 anos, 25 anos
– Selección: 1980, 1986, 1987, 1990
– 111 Proof: Ron Malteco 11 anos 55.5% alc. vol.
Distributed in France by Bruant Distribution.
Rum Malecon
More on the dry-side taste. Distilled from molasses in column still. Also ideal for whisky and cognac drinkers who would like to approach the rum world. This range is complete from the youngest to the millesimes, in the following families:
– Reserva Superior
– Reserva Imperial
– Rare Proof
– Selección Esplendida
– Young Rums
– Licor de Ron
Distributed in France by Les Whiskies du Monde.
Ron La Cruz
Available at present in 4 skus: 7, 12, 18, 21 anos.
We do not have a distributor in France yet.
Why having chosen Rhum Fest Paris to exhibit?
Rhum Fest Paris is becoming more and more very international and also a crossroad in Europe where all the rum brands are present in one unique event. It is also a good opportunity to see what other colleagues are doing, if new ideas are coming up and where the rum trends are going. Also showcasing our different rum families and getting in touch with the French consumers, it is a great opportunity to get to know more about this sparkling market!
